I always gush about the level Volvo takes safety of the occupants in their cars to from several posts i have done on this blog. The good thing is that they are only getting better and raising the bar with each new product.

Their SUV XC90 is without doubt a very safe car and with this test of their upcoming new 2017 saloon car, S90, it is so reassuring to see that one must not ride in the SUV to get premium safety because the accompanying video shows how extremely well their cars does in this very crucial small overlap test (25% offset) of the IIHS.
For your information, this test, is designed to replicate what happens when the front corner of a vehicle collides with another vehicle or an object like a tree or utility pole, executed when the vehicle is doing 64 km/h (40 mph) and so far has been a tough one for a lot of car makers to conquer with their products. But hey, Volvo eats crash tests for breakfast.
