The first commercial flying car will be hitting the United Kingdom road by 2018.
According to a Dutch company Pal V who is the manufacturer of the helicopter/car hybrid, the first model is expected to roll off the production line in 2018.

Liberty Vehicle as the car model was named by Pal V is in line with existing air and road regulations thus the law will not be a limitation to the car hitting the road in 2018.
Liberty is said to fly at a speed of 100-110km/h and can take off within 10 mins when switching from driving to flying mode.
The cockpit can only take two people including the pilot, but a family model could be the next technology challenge.
The Dutch company wants Liberty to promote a new idea of “freedom of mobility” thanks to what it has coined “FlyDriving”.
