Tesla has recalled nothing less than 53,000 cars worldwide over brake failure.
According to reports, Tesla recalled 53,000 of the Model S sedans and Model X SUVs after the parking brakes have been observed to get stuck and thus preventing the car from moving after being parked.
The recall affects vehicles built between February and October 2016. Tesla says less than 5 percent of the vehicles it’s recalling may be affected, but it wants to inspect them all to make sure.
Tesla also revealed they will contact owners of the supposed vehicles via mail and commence repairs immediately.
Regular brakes weren’t affected thus there have not been any case of accidents relating to the car.
The vehicles may contain a small gear that was manufactured improperly by a supplier. If the gear breaks, the parking brake could get stuck in place.
