Professional British super biker Tom Sykes has won the first world super bike race of the weekend.
The Kawasaki biker emerged victorious after leader Chaz Davies crashed from the lead and championship leader Jonathan Rea ran into him.
Jonathan Rea was able to remount his bike and finish third just behind Alex Lowes while Jordi Torres and Xavi Fores of Spain completed the top five.
Sykes speaking on his victory said
“All I can say is we were at our limit, understood it and stayed there. And luckily for us in the last laps the other riders around us started to make some mistakes and some got unlucky, but overall 25 points is good,”
Chaz Davies retired from super bike racing after the race.
