German auto giant Audi AG has recalled nothing less than 1.27 million cars internationally over an electric fault.

According to report, the affected models are A4, A5, A5 Cabriolet and Q5 models built between April 2011 and May 2015 and the fault was detected through product monitoring checks.

We are yet to ascertain the number of  UK cars affected by the recall but 875,000 cars are affected in Europe, 250,000 in North America and 47,000 in Asia.
Reports added that the recall is due to fire incidents as a result of thermal overload occurring at the plug connectors of the electrical connections in the auxiliary heater due to friction corrosion.

The company further said the car could be driven but if an Audi owner encounter a burning smell he/she should park the car and report to an Audi dealer.
