The Lagos State Computerised Vehicle Inspection Service, LACVIS, held a Management Team retreat on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the PSSDC Conference Hall, Magodo, Lagos State.
The retreat which had in attendance Management team and Zonal Heads of the Vehicle Inspection Service, VIS, had “The Year In Review(2017)” as the theme.
Giving the opening speech, the Director of the VIS, Engr. Abdul Hafeez Gbolahan Toriola, praised the synergy between both organizations. He saluted the courage of LACVIS management team in setting enviable standards in vehicle inspection. According to him, “LACVIS has invested so much to create standards and it is imperative that we support LACVIS to ensure that road carnages are reduced to achieve safer roads and safer vehicles”.
Corroborating the speech, the General Manager of LACVIS, reiterated the goal of opening up more centres to achieve the ease of vehicle inspection in Lagos State. In his speech during the technical session, Mr Ogunnaike highlighted that parking brakes is the major cause of failure recorded at the LACVIS centres. He gave a breakdown of the statistics of the up to 5,000 vehicles inspected at both the Ojodu and Ikorodu facilities since the commencement of the programme last year inclusive of the pass, fail, retest and Road Worthiness Certificate issued.
Other speakers include Engr. Abel Adebayo, the deputy director of VIS who presented a paper titled” Efficient Advocacy of Vehicle Maintenance to Motorists while the MD of LACVIS represented by the HRM, Cmdr. Wale Okulenu (RTd)presented a paper titled “Leadership Qualities That Drive Organisation To Greater Heights.
