Opel announced last Tuesday the departure of Ulrich Schumacher, member of the board and director of human resources. A departure following the acquisition of the former subsidiary of General Motors by the PSA group.

The German manufacturer said that Ulrich Schumacher would leave his post the next day. Adding that his successor would be appointed as soon as possible.

Thus, the Opel Supervisory Board accepted his request to be relieved of his duties for personal reasons we are told in a statement. This concludes all discussion in this respect. The fact remains that this departure occurs the same week as the publication of PSA Group’s results incorporating the elements of its new subsidiary Opel.

“Ulrich Schumacher has led the Human Resources transformation at Opel / Vauxhall in Europe over the last five years and has made this function an important part of the Group’s strategy , said Michael Lohscheller, Chairman of Opel’s Executive Board.
