Fisker Automotive produced one of the world’s first plug-in hybrid electric cars in the late 2000s. The company founded by Henri Fisker and a business partner recently filed for bankruptcy and has been bough over by a Chinese investor and renamed The New Fisker.
From all indications, Henri used to do design for Aston Martin.
Fast forward several years and he is in the process of building a new car named Thunderbolt. But Aston will have one of this as they say the car used some of their trademarked design elements and also based on their latest Vanquish. So they headed for the courts.
But both parties have amicably resolved their issues resulting in Fisker deciding not to produce the Thunderbolt and Aston withdrew the case.
According to jalopnik, they issued an official joint statement:
On March 26, 2015, Aston Martin filed a lawsuit against Henrik Fisker and other parties alleging various infringements by “Project Thunderbolt” of Aston Martin’s intellectual property rights. The parties are pleased to report that they have been able to swiftly and amicably resolve their differences.
The terms of the resolution are confidential except that the Parties wish to confirm 3 points:
1. Henrik Fisker has decided that “Project Thunderbolt” will not be produced;
2. Aston Martin will withdraw the lawsuit; and
3. In view of some apparent misunderstandings surrounding reports of the case, the Parties wish to expressly confirm that the contentions made by AML were those, and only those, made in the lawsuit. The Parties confirm that that they have amicably resolved those matters, as well as any attendant misunderstandings.
The Parties will not be commenting further.

Hehehehehe, Aston, wait till some people from the Far East decides to copy and mass produce cheaper versions of your products. Then your legal funds will dry up. They haven’t spared the Beetle and the BMW.
