Supercars are mostly built way ahead of time as compared to ‘regular’cars. But there is a supercar that was built way ahead of fellow supercars. Yet not much is known about it because it was a one-off that was custom made for a rich Arabian oil sheik.

The 1995 Lotec Mercedes Benz C1000 was privately commissioned by the UAE moneyman to German sports car maker Lotec who took five years to fulfill his fantasy of being the only one in the world to own the fastest street-legal car in the world.

According to Car Buzz, “the one of a kind Mercedes has a twin-turbo 5.6-liter V8 engine and a 5-speed manual transmission by Hewland.

The car can hit 60mph in 3.2 seconds and has an insane top speed of 268 mph. It’s also absolutely hideous. However, the C1000 was certainly ahead of its time when it was built and can likely still hold its own against the likes of some modern supercars. The ultra-rare Mercedes is now back on the market for a cool $1.2 million”.
