A Kenyan man Abraham Kiptum, has emerged the winner of the second edition of the Lagos state marathon.
Kiptum emerged the winner for the second time with an improved speed compared to last year.

Kiptum ran a distance of 42.5km at a time interval of 2hrs 15mins 23secs.
Kiptum speaking on his victory expressed joy over his victory. He promised to use his 50,000USD prize money to help indigent athletes in his home country.
On the other hand a Kenyan woman, Roda Jepkorir Tanui, dethroned Ethiopian Halima Kayo, to win the female category.
The Lagos Marathon race hosted over 50,000 local and international athletes from 27 countries, including Nigeria, participated in the race.
It also featured around 64 elite athletes from 26 countries, 30 special athletes and 102 runners from Nigeria.
Ilya Pam Nwanta won for men while Olude Fadekemi won in women’s category for the Nigerian cadre.
