Leading auto industry practitioner, Volkswagen has revealed they will plead guilty to the diesel gate criminal case.
Manfred Doess, Volkswagen counsel pleaded guilty at U.S. District Court in Detroit that he was authorized by the board of directors of Volkswagen to do so.
“Your honor, Volkswagen is pleading guilty to all three counts because it is guilty on all three counts,” Doess told the court.
Naijacarlovers gathered that Volkswagen pleaded guilty on Friday and have agreed to pay a fine of $4.3 billion.
In January, the US prosecutor Sean Cox announced that the Volkswagen has agreed to installing a secret software to enable the cars beat emission test over a period of six years.
Volkswagen agreed to change the way it operates in the United States and other countries under the settlement.
Report has it that Volkswagen will spend up to $25 billion in the United States to address claims from owners, environmental regulators, states and dealers and offer to buy back about 500,000 polluting U.S. vehicles.
