The Senate President Bukola Saraki has denied his involvement in the bullet proof Range Rover SUV impounded by the Nigerian Customs over failure to pay import duties.
Saraki who appeared before the Senate Committee on ethics said he is not an importer and neither did he pay any agent to help him import any car.

“Thank you members of the Senate Committee for inviting me. I am not an importer, I have no agent involved in importing the vehicle on my behalf”, he said.
Saraki said he buys cars from dealers who buys from importers so couldn’t be tied to the impounded Range Rover Sports.
He further commended the Senate for their commitment to ensure everybody no matter your position complied to the rule of law.
The Nigerian Customs had earlier accused Saraki of being involved in the importation of a N370 million bullet proof Range Rover and subsequently evaded payment of custom duties
