Italian government have lifted ban on Uber taxi using smartphone app within Italy temporarily.
According to reports, the ban was lifted temporarily pending definitive ruling in the case, which pitches the ride-sharing service against taxi drivers.
Recall that Uber was earlier this week banned from operation after a lawsuit was filed against the company by Italy’s major traditional taxi associations.
The suit also prohibited Uber from promoting or advertising its services in Italy.
However, Uber on Friday appealed the ban, the court agreed to temporarily lift the ban until a final ruling in the case.
“We are very pleased to be able to communicate to all drivers and Uber users in Italy that they will be able to continue using the application until the court rules,” Uber said in a statement.
