Many were said to have escaped death following a swift response of the fire service men after a petrol tanker fell in Akure, Ondo State.

According to a resident; “the petrol tanker fell around 7am while he was about to turn at Isikan Roundabout in Akure, Ondo State”.
The driver took to his heels immediately the tanker spilled petrol on the roads for fear of being lynched by residents in the area.
Another resident said the 33,000 litre petrol tanker caused traffic gridlock in the area.
However men of the fire service were able to seal off the road and evacuated the tanker and scooped out the spilled fuel without any fire incident.
