The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned drivers against tampering with the speed limit device installed in their vehicles to regulate their speed.

According to the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, he said he personally apprehended a commercial bus driver who tampered with his speed limiter to make it convenient for him to speed in the highway.
According to Head, Media Relations and Strategy, Bisi Kazeem, the incident occurred along Okigwe -Enugu highway when the driver with registeration number UWN 402 ZT attempted to overtake the Corps Marshal’s convoy with high speed.
He had the driver stopped and questioned only to discover that the driver has tampered with speed limit making it possible for him to speed.
Oyeyemi noted that the corps was increasing its vigilance on recalcitrant drivers and whoever is found to have violated any of the traffic rules would be made to suffer the consequences of the action to serve as deterrence to others
