South Korean Auto giant KIA Motor Corporation, has recalled nothing less than 340,000 cars for the second time after the first repair failed.

According to report, KIA recalled about 340,000 Souls over steering defect which has continued after the first fix by the South Korean giant

The recall affects certain model year 2014-2016 Soul and Soul EVs, made between July 21, 2013 and Sept. 30, 2015.

The pinion plug could allow a pinion gear to separate from the steering assembly, according to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

“If the pinion gear separates,” the report says, “steering will be lost, increasing the risk of a crash.”.

The recall will commence by mid November during which KIA will inspect the affected vehicles and carryout the repair free of charge
