Volkswagen hires at Tesla for electrical

To successfully develop electric models in the US market, what better than to hire an American who was until now at a US manufacturer of electric cars. The Volkswagen group has in fact hired Matthew Renna, who will head the electric vehicles of the German giant in the United States.

The Volkswagen Group and Tesla will become direct competitors as soon as Volkswagen and its brands have released their first trendy models. Range ID at Volkswagen, Mission E at Porsche, E-tron at Audi , launches are emerging and we will have to manage all this beautiful world in the country of Uncle Sam.

As good competitors, the two entities can also “steal” key employees. This is the case of Volkswagen, which announced that it had recruited Matthew Renna, who had previously worked for Tesla as project manager for two years on the Model S and Model X. An important job for Renna who will find another very quickly.

The American will indeed vice-president of Volkswagen USA and responsible for electric vehicles for the German group across the Atlantic. The next five years are therefore very intense for Matthew Renna who will have a crucial position at the German group in the United States, where Volkswagen will propose by 2020 the return of the Combi, a mythical vehicle for Americans. And this time, it will be … electric, of course.
