Two new ratings for EuroNCAP this summer 2018. The Ford Focus and the Volvo XC40 both score 5 stars with fairly close ratings.

The new Ford Focus gets 5 stars with a good rating in adult protection. Note anyway a flat for the whiplash at the front. Usually, it is rather in the back that it poses problem.

Here, as the Focus does not get a good score in head protection, the points obtained on the automatic braking (AEB) type city are not taken into account. Another ineptitude on the part of EuroNCAP.

On the side of child protection, the Ford Focus is full of points and protects the occupants well. Pedestrian shock level, the Focus has a front that absorbs the shock well.

The central part of the hood too. Of course, as always, when approaching the wings or the windshield, the shock is harder. The AEB type pedestrian works rather well (5.1 / 6) while with a bike, it is already more complicated (1.9 / 6).

In aid to safety, the Focus wins 75%. It is well equipped with the limiter / regulator with the bonus of reading the panels for information on the speed limit.

The front / rear belt loopback reminder, line crossing warning and even an inter-urban type AEB are there and allow him to get the 5 stars.
