Bullitt is the film that has long held the title of the longest car chase with almost 10 minutes without dialogue, only vroom vroom.

And of course, it is the nice guy, Steve McQueen, who wins, driving his Mustang GT Fastback of 1968. Since then, there have already been “Mustang Bullitt”, in particular in 2001 and in 2008, but they were not officially marketed in Europe by Ford.

The last, though. And it makes several winks to the car of the film, especially with the famous gear knob bakelite (the Mustang Bullitt 2018 is only available in manual transmission).

In passing Ford has (very) slightly modified the car technically: a new air intake allows to win some horses (but the couple does not evolve) and … that’s all, or almost.

Nothing, especially, on the chassis part. So the sensations driving do not evolve compared to the GT 5.0 “normal” , which is not necessarily a criticism: there is a fairly effective GT, much more modern and considerate than previous generations, practicable everyday ( in any case with the optional piloted suspension of our test model), and always bewitching with the sound of his atmospheric V8.
