I recently made a post about the silent but consistent progress electric vehicles are making on Nigerian roads and I reposted the article today.
Three days ago, I was driving on Eko Bridge heading to Lagos Island when I looked at my side mirror, I saw a black and handsome SUV bearing down on me. I initially was like “whoa, which brand new Maserati SUV is this?” But I quickly remembered that Saglev Electric Cars have some models that bear a striking similarity with some Maserati cars.

I then looked well and realized it was a model from Saglev.
I was greatly happy because I happen to have met the owner of the company at some events and I know the enthusiasm he displayed while making presentations about his company and products. He had built an assembly plant in Ikorodu, Lagos. I was happy to see that finally their products have started hitting our roads.
Coincidentally, I was heading in the same direction as the car so I allowed it to pass so I could do more observing.
The first thing I checked for was for exhaust pipes which definitely were absent. Then I checked for the name of the car, voila, Saglev Voyah Free. Also, there was a bold notice indicating that it is an electric vehicle.
As typical of electric vehicles, the car has awesome instant pull away from me once the traffic frees up.
Like I earlier stated in the previous post, I predict that Nigerians will privately adopt the electric propulsion vehicles faster than other sources of power.
Are you with me on this?
