Foremost Nigerian automotive giant, Coscharis Motors has once again blazed the trail in the industry by producing some 300km single-charge range, 40-seater electric buses for the Abia State government.
In a brief unveiling for automotive journalists at the PTML Yard, the President of Coscharis Group, Dr. Cosmas Maduka revealed that 100 units of the Asiastar- Coscharis electric buses were ordered by the Abia State government but 20 units are currently ready to be delivered to the state government while the remaining 80 units will be ready too in no distant time.

Taking Journalists on an inspection of the buses, Dr. Maduka further explained that these buses are going to be a fantastic return on investment (ROI) for the Abia State government as the buses are built to the highest operational and safety standards. And their non dependence on fossil fuel will help them avoid the attendant fluctuating diesel costs, higher maintenance costs for diesel engines, and offer a cleaner energy to sustain our environment. He also pointed out that passenger safety is paramount in the building of the buses as they are compliant with necessary safety standards and regulations, come equipped with several emergency escape windows, emergency hammers, fire extinguishers, disability aids, and on-board cameras to help with the security of the buses and its passengers.

The fully air-conditioned buses also offer passengers charging ports so they can charge their devices on the go.
He explained that there are several solar powered charging stations where the buses will be charged as needed without disturbing the normal regular operations of the transport service.
In his words, “Coscharis Motors has continued to lead in innovation in the automobile industry, and when we set up our business, we made a bold statement that we will continue to set the standards that competitors in the industry will be judged by and this keeps us in the frontline, driving innovation”.

He also promised that in a very short time, the buses will be produced at his expansive assembly plant at Awoyaya, Lagos. And this move will create jobs, and benefit the government also.
The Abia Green Shuttle Service buses will be immediately delivered to the state government while the remaining batches are expected soon.
